We call Rusty Eason as Minister of Music!
Rusty Eason . . . accepts the call to be our new Minister of Music! I am so thrilled to have Rusty joining our staff team. His first Sunday here will be Nov. 13. He needs to resign from the church where he is interim and give them two weeks notice. He also a has revival commitment on Nov. 6. It has been amazing to watch God orchestrate (note the music reference) this whole process. Be praying for Rusty and his wife, Susan, as they begin their ministry here with us.
We are honored to host . . . the Associational Meeting here on Monday, Oct. 24. The theme this year is “We Are One.” Here is the schedule for the evening:
5:00 pm Food Trucks on Campus for evening meal food choices
6:00 pm Business Meeting in the Worship Center
6:30 pm Worship
8:00 pm Brownie/Cookie and ice cream fellowship.
Leslie has enlisted many to help with this evening. We want to be good hosts for our friends around the association. If you would like to help, see Leslie. I would encourage you to come and see what is happening in mid-south churches. You may be surprised and encouraged to see all that God is doing in our area!
Our Trunk or Treat event . . . is on the move! We are joining hands with Rivercrest Elementary School for this community event. We still need folks to bring their trunks and candy on Sunday, Oct. 30 – only now – we are meeting on the back parking lot at the school. Our prayer is that we can build relationships with families from our neighborhood and offer the children a safe and fun event. If you can donate candy, there are baskets in the church foyer.
As we move towards the holidays . . . I will be preaching a short series on Matthew 24 called “Listen to Jesus.” The series deals with future events that Jesus spoke about to encourage his disciples (then and now.) I hope the words will give you hope and strength as we deal with “elections, decisions and uncertain days.”
